Spring Break 2015 Road Trip!

Our last spring break as dental students!!!! What??!! It is crazy and so exciting! This break would be a lot different and full of hotel stays and job interviews! Millie was beyond excited to get going so she started packing for braxton, jordan and herself.
We got in the car and headed south on I-29 toward Kansas...it was so fun to go a different direction. So much to see!
This boy is not the best traveler and cries about 2 hours in but millie can distract him with her silliness.
Our new favorite car toy...BALLOONS! And come to find out they are great pillows for cute toddler heads :)

Braxton is by far THEE BEST traveler and will usually not make a peep. He keeps himself busy with mirrors, blankets and light up toys.
We drove through Iowa, Missouri and made it to Kansas for lunch! My first time seeing Kansas...it was pretty in a flat land way. Really neat how far you can see without anything in your vision. After Kansas, Oklahoma (never been there either) and then drove into Texas!
Texas truly lived up to its claim to everything's bigger in Texas...the sky seriously seemed bigger, skyline for days and even the curvature of the earth! Our first night stay was in Amarillo. Marc had interviewed a couple weeks before and had received an offer. Amarillo was awesome! We went to church in the morning and I fell in love with the people! So so friendly! Check for Amarillo...definitely a place I could live if Marc took the job. Then we were off to Alamogordo, New Mexico.
We were definitely excited about this interview because of the potential of the job and the people we would get to work with! On our way there, we got pulled over and thankfully let off with a warning ;) we got to see some of the smallest towns and oldest! When we got to Alamogordo we were greeted by the most friendly family! The Westovers were amazing and so hospitable! They fed our family, let us play and hang out, took us around the town, fed us lunch and dinner twice...seriously the most humble and kind people! We kept praying for them to offer the job! It was a smaller town but would've been a little more long term and an exciting adventure with great people to be working for! After two days there we headed to Albuquerque for Marc's last interview. On our short drive there we were weighing pros and cons and trying to envision ouselves in each location. Definitely a hard thing when it's "real" life you have to think about!
Braxton making himself comfy in one of the hotels. The kids LOVED staying in hotels and did so well! When we arrived to Albuquerque we went straight to Del Taco...no brainer haha and then we went and investigated. I wanted to badly to dislike it because we already had two great choices, adding another was just a overwhelming idea! Anyway...we loved it and could picture ourselves there long term. It would all come down to the interview. In the morning Marc went to his interview and the kids and I went to the temple...
It was a beautiful day and we couldn't get enough of the sunshine and warmth! Millie loves the temple and it was definitely the place to be when you have such a cluttered mind! While there I fell in love with the thought of living there.

We got to go meet the Dr. Shepherd and his wife who gave us a tour of the office. She asked Millie her name and without hesitation introduced herself as "princess Millie" I about died and so did Tamera! Millie got us a job on that spot and then lost it when she repremended the office staff for touching "ruthies" bow. Haha loved meeting everyone and seeing how much they loved Marc!
The kids and I left for lunch at chick-fil-a and when we went to pick up Marc found out he had been offered a job there too! We were so thankful and felt so blessed but we did have a hard decision ahead of us! Thankfully we had another long stretch of road to talk it over.
The kids were exhausted and traveled really well on the 8 hours to St. george! We got there late but it was so fun to see cousins and family again! We stayed at Megan's and as usual it was a blast! We always have so much fun when we stay with family! We went to lunch and had a lot of discussion of our future...stressful but exciting!!! Staying with Megan and Mike has proven to be lucky because we were living with them when we got accepted into dental school and when we got a job!! After lots of crazy twists and turns, we got confirmation where we were supposed to be and....drumroll....we will be moving to Albuquerque!!!!
After all the craziness, we were able to celebrate and enjoy time with family! Braxton, as always, loved Micah and attacked him first chance he got!
We hung out, shopped a little are yummy food and just enjoyed talking with everyone and talking about upcoming events! Of course Ruth is always prepared and had an amazing egg hunt ready for the kids! We are so grateful for such a fun grandma! Millie was in heaven!

Jordan and Louis...jordan is terrified of him! Haha
Trying to figure out how this thing works out...
Jordan loved the candy! ;) everyone took a bite of the giant chocolate Easter Bunny such a fun tradition!
Grandkids with grandma Ruth!
Millie thought she was such a big girl!
Cousins! Missing Nixon!!!! :(
After that we went to Megan's had cake (for my birthday) and watched fights. Braxton got in the spirit and pinned uncle Jeff down haha
So grateful for the memories made! Grateful I got to spend my birthday with family and going to lunch with the girls! I'm so blessed!
The next morning Marc drove to the airport and we drove to cedar to get ready for THE WEDDING!!
We sure missed having dad with us but I am so lucky and when we got to Cedar to nana and papas we got to go to church, have my favorite meal (lasagna) and cake...carrot cake! Thanks mom for taking care of me! Best birthday! 26 will be a good year!
While alone...jordan pulled a complete ALL NIGHTER!! I was dying and lost a lot of sleep. Thankfully he is so cute so I could forgive him ;)
The Leprechauns found us in cedar and Millie thought it was so fun! After that day it was time to get down to serious business and PLAN ANANDAS WEDDING! Yay!!!
