Easter 2013

I can't believe another Easter came and went because I remember so vividly Millie as a new baby and we were living in Utah just one year ago!! Easter was pretty low key and I really appreciated that! We just had a long and exhausting trip home a couple days prior so we just wanted to stay home and enjoy the great weather we had!
We skipped the neighbor Easter egg hunt and just did our own that our kids could actually take their time and have fun! Millie LOVED being outside and couldn't get enough! She would pick up as many eggs as she could in those tiny hands and refused to use her bucket. Ha she now knows what is inside those things so a couple was all she needed and she figured out how to bust them open. ;) brax didn't have as much fun. He found his one blue egg and that's all he needed. He then wanted to go back inside to play with toys.
Later that night we had a ham dinner , dyed our eggs, and made our annual Easter sugar cookies. :) Millie now wanted to kind of help but I realized her idea of helping was eating the dough!! Ha we had help with frosting the cookies from our friends and then it was time for bed!!
The Easter bunny came and spoiled the kids rotten. I have to thank the other Easter bunny helpers who brought way more for my kids than needed but we sure do appreciate it!
After all the frills and candy, I FINALLY got to do my favorite on Easter...go to church and reflect on my savior and all he has done for me, my family and everyone who chooses to take upon them his name and all the mercy and grace that is Jesus Christ. We get the chance to renew and better ourselves every week but on Easter Sunday, it seems to amplify and I feel energized and ready to take on whatever comes my way.
Our savior has gone below it all...every pain, every tear, every sorrow, and loneliness so that we can have the strength to overcome this world and one day return to live with him! This on condition that we let him in and allow him to help us by applying his infinite atonement in our lives. I am so grateful for my savior. I wouldn't have the blessings in my life without him and my testimony that he lives!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter!! Yay for general conference this weekend!
