Conference Weekend

I just LOVE conference weekend!! What a wonderful excuse to drop all of the hectic things in your life and focus on what is most important...family and the gospel (oh and good food ;) haha!!

Every 6 months I look forward to bring spiritually fed and uplifted by living prophets and apostles here on this earth. It's a great way for me to take inventory and realize what I need to do better and what Heavenly Father wants me to learn! I actually got A LOT out of conference this year thanks to my children actually taking naps at the perfect time! I think that is a sign that I needed to hear EVERY talk. Haha I must need to learn more than most! ;)

In between sessions on Saturday we went outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather that was omaha (now we might have snow!) anyway while we were watching our kids play and play I couldn't help but think of how lucky we are! We were being edified and uplifted by LIVING prophets! While the whole world was going about their business and not recognizing the magnitude of what was going on we were being blessed and strengthened! In Utah most things were planned around conference...dances, sports, trips, etc. but out here, if you aren't looking for it, you will not find it! I just wanted to shout to everyone passing by, "come listen to our Heavenly Father speak through men of god it will lead to eternal happiness!" Then another thought came and I realized that I could do that if I was a better member missionary! I get caught up in my motherly duties but I can find ways to share the gospel...even if its writing in this here blog! :)

I am grateful for all the talks that were given because I learned soooo much! One of my favorites was Sister Wixom's Talk! 

Oh and I can't leave out some of the greatest news from conference...Cedar City, UT Temple! Yay! So excited for my little home town! They have been praying for one for so long and now it is time! Great work is coming from those rural towns in Utah! Can't wait to see it bless so many lives. :)
