This was a day I had been dreading all week. Braxton loves school and the bus so his last day (though he didn't understand it was) I knew was going to be a hard one for me.
Every morning we walked out to that bus and braxton would get so excited! This last time we walked out and braxton decided he was going to climb the stairs all by himself! It was the neatest thing and very timely :)
His bus driver and aid were super sad he wasn't going to be on their bus anymore. We gave them their treats and thanked them for their service. I'm so grateful they were so caring and considerate of him!
While braxton was off at school for a while the rest of us went down town for some site seeing and CANDY ;) we showed everyone the antique shops and the fun atmosphere. Definitely was a great way to spend our morning...
After we hopped in the car and everyone came with us into Braxtons school to see where he had been loved for the last year and a half. I knew I would be sad but as soon as we stepped in the building I started getting emotional. It was so hard realizing that we were leaving this place forever and all the amazing teachers and staff who had made him going to school such an amazing experience. We walked down the halls and multiple teachers followed us to say their final goodbyes.
Braxtons best little friend. She loved braxton and watched out for him at school!
All of the aides and teachers that helped braxton grow and learn! They were truly so amazing and loved him so so much!
We got our final picture outside the front of the school and that ended a chapter for Braxton and our family. (Missing Jordan: sleeping in the car with Grandpa)
After that emotional visit we made our way to California Taco and had a yummy lunch. We had to show everyone the Diner Drive-in and Dive we went to almost weekly.
Because it was so close we ran over to Marc's School to show everyone where he had been the last three years. It was so weird walking through the halls knowing Marc would not be back and was a REAL dentist!!
