Last Leg of the Trip: Summer 2014

As I am writing this I am reminded of how many mixed emotions go along with traveling long distances for long amounts of time with kids. It was SO MUCH FUN to be with family for four weeks and to have our kids play with cousins but it's also much needed to get back into a routine in our own home. Thankfully, we didn't have to end our travels abruptly and travel 20 hours home alone, we got to stay at Ang and Brace's house for a couple of days and that was such a fun, unfortunately short, stay! We hadn't seen what Rock Springs had to offer so we asked for the grand tour! It's actually are really neat and fun town. Can't wait to do all the fun things the rain didn't allow us to do ;)
These girls love each other. They had so much fun playing
We went to the WWCC in town where they have a neat display of a complete T-REX and a bunch of other dinos. Even cooler to learn that they were discovered not too far from Rock Springs. The kids LOVED it and it was fun and free haha
All of our kids...the lil yayhoos
We got to go to a park after the rain quieted down for a bit after dinner and the kids had a blast...I was freezing but they got some wiggles out. These girls just are too funny together!

Aunt Ang pushing and making the girls laugh on the swings
Even though it was a quick stop we had so much fun hanging out and seeing Ang, Brace and their cute kids. Any time, even if short, is worth it to be with family. Thanks for letting us stay you guys and be ready for us to come crash for a lot longer next time ;)

We woke up at 4 am the next day to make the 12 hour drive home. That wasn't our original plan but someone wanted to look at our house so we needed to rush to get home and CLEAN...So of course we are making sure we don't take long breaks and only stop when we absolutely had to and this is what that leads to...we got to the gas station with one mile til empty! I was freakin out! haha a lot of coasting down hills allowed that to happen.
But of course 6 hours into the drive we find out they didn't need to come look at our house anymore :( sad news but it sure was nice when we got home and realized that we had PLENTY of time to unpack and unwind from our trip!
I'd say the last couple of times going home and visiting family and then coming back home, I was actually excited to be traveling back home to Omaha. It's hard to admit because it sounds so mean but I didn't think I would ever consider Omaha to be my home. BUT once I started to see how many great blessings have come from moving out here for our little family and all of the memories we have created and friends we have made thus far, it is definitely my home and I'm glad that I can say it's nice to be home after a long and amazing visit with family! Until Christmas! ;)
