Millie Lately

Millie has grown so much in the past month! She is the funniest little girl and cracks me up on a daily basis. She is still such a fiesty little diva and has also learned to talk back, say no, and try and manipulate but watching her little mind work to try and accomplish those things is pretty entertaining...I just have to make sure she doesn't see me laugh when she is doing something she shouldn't. haha
She started gymnastics and LOVES it! She goes once a week and looks forward to it. She is even trying some of the moves at home! ha When I ask her if she is excited to go to gymnastics she gets a huge grin and says, "yeah! Green treat!" haha I know that she doesn't just go for the treat but that is one of her motivators for sure. ;) I will sometimes stay and listen to what they are doing. You can hear Millie every once in a while tell everyone that it's "Millie's turn" and I just start crackin up. I am so glad that she gets to do this because she deserves to have some social time with little girls her age.

As we get ready for this baby to get here...Millie is starting to understand more and more that a baby is in mommy's tummy. Since she is my little side kick while Braxton is at school each day, she gets to go to appointments with me and hear the heart beat. She LOVES to hear his heart beat and yesterday she came up to me, put her hand on my belly and said, "Mom! Heart Beat!" :) She is really getting the mothering instincts down and likes to carry her babies around, feed them bottles and but binkis in, push them in the stroller, put them to bed, "Shhh baby nigh night" "Love you baby, sleep good" are some of the phrases I hear her say to them. haha She loves to stuff her diaper bag with all sorts of things and I gave her all of her old burp cloths and blankets to use for her babies. She is in heaven!

I find her babies laying around the house daily, usually with the same set up. haha She is so OCD (sorry she got it from me) and makes sure she gets everything set up just right. She gets so mad when Braxton messes it up. ha

Since we are together from 8:30 to 12:30 we get to have a lot of girl time. She LOVES when we get to run errands and loves when she and I eat breakfast together. She tells me, "Millie Circle (cereal)" and then will say, "mommy circle, sit down mom" ha While we eat breakfast we study the scriptures...it started out with just me doing it but then one day Millie went and grabbed her BOM and came and sat at the table, "marked" her scriptures which she calls "coloring", and eats her cereal like I do. It seriously kills me. She is such a good girl!

She loves to get dressed for the day and usually right when I grab her out of her crib she is asking for clothes. She LOVES church and loves to get dressed up for it. I will dress her or Marc will dress her and then she will to up to both of us and say "Dad/ Mom, Millie Pretty!" haha She LOVES to get her hair done and have a bow now...only took two years...but after I do it she runs out to where Marc is and stand right by him until he looks and says, "Millie! You look so pretty!" Then she grins from ear to ear and is just beaming. It's sad when Marc is at school because she still runs out to where he would be and is looking for him to tell her how pretty she is. On those days I will take a picture and send it to Marc so he can see how pretty she is ;)
Like I said, she loves to run errands and is starting to get some of the store names down. She knows target and DEFINITELY knows that they have "corn" (meaning popcorn) haha She likes costco and says "hot dog" (I really don't even get a hot dog that often she just has a good memory ;) We ventured out to the Laundromat to clean my bed spread and she was so entertained by the washer spinning.
Because I am a psycho and started freaking out at the thought of having three in diapers I decided to try the three day potty training method...it worked great for a week and then Millie got bored of it and regressed. So the three days we were connected at the hip went out the window and she is back in diapers. I am more sane and will work on it again after baby gets here ;) She still asks for her "unies" undies and wants to go potty every once in a while so think we will get there but I have decided rushing it wasn't worth it. haha

Millie:
knows all of her colors and in nursery asks specifically for certain colors haha
she has quite the vocabulary: my favorite is "rolls" and "Chocamilk" that means we go to Texas Roadhouse WAY too much. haha
can count to ten (don't know how but she does haha)
tell me she is scared of new things everyday (lint in the bath tub being a new one)
She LOVES to help me clean and "wash hands" (wash dishes)
she now asks me to help push the vacuum...major step here!
she loves to read
she loves to dance now and knows "roar" "burn" and "shake your booty song" she asks for those to be played A LOT!

Millie is seriously the best little girl! I get on her quite a bit because I expect a lot of her...I know she is not even two and I feel bad that I put so much expectation on her but for the most part she really likes to be mommy's helper and likes for me to give her things to do. I am finding it's ok to have "high" expectations on kids because most of the time they want to live up to those and will learn a lot more. I just need to remember that there is a balance to it and that tantrums will happen, she will make mistakes and if she is like me (which I am finding she is more and more) then I need to make sure that I allow her to do her thing and learn that it's ok to make mistakes and not be a perfectionist! ;) I learn so much from my kids! I am so grateful for her because she really helps me so much with Braxton and will be a huge help when her little brother comes shortly! We are so blessed to have her fun, sweet, spirit in our home! Keep being the AMAZING little girl you are Millie! Love you!
