Our little Braxton had his first day of school on December 2nd and we are still getting used to the fact that he is old enough and big enough to go to school!!! He is the smallest in his class (by far) but they love him! At his IEP they couldn't wait for him to start. He was so excited!

Mom and Braxton...Mom getting sad. |

Millie was still in her pjs haha |
On the first day Millie and I got to drop him off because the bus route wasn't set up. This was a tender mercy because I got to make sure he was all settled in his class before I left. I wasn't too worried about him because he doesn't notice if I leave the room. It was me being a crazy mom but he didn't even look back. Once he got in there he went straight to students, the teachers, and started making messes. haha

Millie wanted a picture at the school so we got one in front of Braxton's locker |
Braxton goes to school Monday through Friday 8:30 to 12:30 so when we dropped him off, Millie and I went and ran errands to try and kill time and keep my mind off of things. I only cried a little ;) We couldn't wait to go pick him up and see how his day went! Millie kept saying "Braxton, School". It was so cute! We watched the clock and actually got a lot done. When we got to the school Millie practically ran into the building. Braxton had an awesome first day! When we were walking out I had to get a picture because Millie was thrilled that they were reunited. She kept trying to hold his hand. haha
The next day I knew would be the hardest one...and it was! It was the first day Braxton would ride the bus and I wouldn't be there to make sure he was ok.

Millie waiting with Braxton for the bus to get to our house. |
When the bus pulled up Braxton got all excited. I think he really liked how big and yellow it was. haha He made his way to the stairs and then I helped him get on. They have me strap him in and then he lost it! He doesn't like to be strapped into things anymore and I'm sure it was hard with it being all new! I made sure he had his favorite little toy to keep him company on the ride and then I had to leave! I just wanted to stay and ride the whole way with him but I guess you just have to let go. :( Millie and I watched as the bus pulled away. Millie waved and said, "love you Braxty" that's when I lost it!!! We walked inside and I just started bawling. Millie came and sat by me and said, "Mom Crying". She gave me a hug and put a blanket on me. It was nice having her there to take care of me haha She is such a good girl! I can't say that I enjoyed my time the first few days but it is getting easier.

Braxton not so sure about the whole bus thing |
When Braxton came home that day he got a note from his teacher. That made me feel great since I couldn't see how he was doing. I am grateful that they keep in touch and that he is adjusting well to school...

It's on it's side but his first note from his teacher! |
He made it to three days of school last week and then came down with his worst sickness yet! It was awful and it got so bad that he had to get three doses of antibiotic shots and wouldn't eat, drink or sleep for three days. He was in so much pain! I kept thinking that sending him to school was beginning to sound awful because I cant have my happy sweet boy be sick all the time. Thankfully, after a blessing and a few days of rest, Braxton came out of it and now has been back to school for three days this week! He is getting better each day with the bus and today Barb, the bus driver, said that he didn't cry on the way home! Yay!! We are so proud of Braxton and everything that he is learning and accomplishing! Now...time to get ready for Christmas break! :)
