We had a lot of fun this year celebrating All Hallows Eve!
Leading up to the actual fright night we had fun painting little pumpkins...
Braxton loved watching, unfortunately we used q-tips for our craft (my bad) and I forget how scared of those things he is. So he basically cried while we were painting. haha Millie loved it until she got paint on her hand and then it was all about getting her a wipe and wiping it off. She wouldn't look at the camera and say cheese because she was SO worried about the dot of paint on her finger. ha
A week before Halloween was Marc's Dental School's annual Halloween Parade. So needless to say I was rushing to get their costumes made so we would be able to show them off...every last hand stitch haha
This is such a fun tradition and I was super excited to have a kid that would actually want to participate. Little did I know that Millie would be so into it that she would throw many tantrums because we had to wait in line to get candy and didn't get to have as many pieces as she wanted. ;) Braxton on the other hand was just happy to be there and because he kept taking off his dog hat, everyone thought he was a monkey. ha
Millie took over Braxton's bag and carried both and thought all the candy was hers too. It was so fun to watch both of them and how it was a fun yet different experience for both of them. Braxton kept trying to grab Millie's tail.
The next day we had our ward Halloween Party (loving this get as much use out of your costume theme!) We had yummy food and a fun time chatting with friends. Millie then spilled ALL of her raisins on the gym floor and threw a fit. She had huge alligator tears but managed to pick everyone up at the same time and put them back in the box. haha
We only got one picture and had to jet out of there so we could go pick up Uncle Micah from the airport! Who needs to actually trunk-or-treat? We had family come which was the best treat of all!!!
Halloween eve...Carved our one pumpkin that didn't get eaten by bugs. Marc had a lot of studying to do so I managed to get all the goop out and carve this thing in less than an hour...for drawing it free hand it kind of looks like a spider. Marc walked in to see the final product and thought it was a tick! I was very bugged...no pun intended. Oh well. It's about making memories right?! :)
The MAIN EVENT HALLOWEEN!
Halloween was a very relaxing chill day. I wanted it to be that way and I just wanted to have some family time. That is what we got and it was perfect. While Marc was at school I made rolls and soup and me the kids listened to Halloween Music. It was a perfect fall day and even though every mom in the neighborhood was hustling and bustling to go to all of these different activities...I enjoyed and my kids preferred to have it that way too.
Marc got home and we went right to trick-or-treating. Millie was a pro and got a lot of candy...notice taking over Braxton's candy bag again. haha He didn't care he had his favorite lid toy. One thing my kids will need to learn in a couple years is that we don't walk into the people's houses that we are trick-or-treating at. Thankfully our neighbors are all of our friends but my kids would have walked right into anyone's house that night because they knew where the loot was. haha We stopped by a couple of houses, got Mom and Dad some of their favorite pieces of candy and then we went home for some dinner and to pass out candy.
Millie walked right in, sat down two feet later, and opened up her first piece of Halloween candy and enjoyed every second. Braxton rolled around on the floor with his toy and laughed hysterically! haha
Pretty great night if you ask me :)
*We did head out for a round two because Millie wanted more candy ;)
