Well...Maybe Next Year

I wasn't going to post this cuz I have posted a lot lately but I just had to. EASTER! Man, was I so excited to celebrate Easter this year! We actually had Braxton to celebrate with this year! I went and got him this cute Easter basket from the dollar store and couldn't wait to hide it and all that good stuff. I got the die for the Easter eggs and even made sugar cookies with the hopes that as a fam we could dye Easter eggs, frost cookies, and just have some good ol' fashion fun! Turns out that Braxton just didn't want to be part of it this year! haha

Maybe he doesn't like the whole Easter Bunny thing (he doesn't compare to the fat, jolly, man in the red coat by any means), or it could be that he just wanted to boycott society's love of candy and love of the wonderful holiday...ya never know. He might be just thinking how ridiculous we look trying to make him join in on all of the activities when all he wants to do is fake punch his dad and laugh! haha

All I know is that my plans of family fun turned into me and Marc taking turns dying eggs and I frosted all of the cookies. Haha

He was not having it!

The next morning, Easter Sunday, I got us all dressed in our Easter outfits and I was pumped for a good day at church...That didn't happen. haha All I could do is laugh. Marc was happy though cuz he actually got to hang out with Brax during Priesthood.

After church it was time to find his Easter Basket. This is him (below) thinking, "Hey! The Easter Bunny gave me the book off my shelf, the swimsuit I already had in my drawer, and candy from my last Easter Egg Hunt, and dad is going to be the one playing with my hoop!" Not happy! ha

This was him after throwing a little fit...tuckered out and ready for a nap...

I love Easter! It was a little ghetto but being poor is fun and Braxton makes it so much more fun cuz we have to be creative in how we celebrate (hence the regifted basket)! Even if he didn't quite grasp any of it...at least we have the memories! I don't care if he was mad on Bunny day...he still made it a blast! I love his personality, maybe cuz he is a little like me, fiesty! He did help me remember though that Easter is about the Savior and family! Everything else is fun but it definitely doesn't matter in the eternal scheme of things.

All I can say is, "Well...Maybe Next Year!" haha

Hi Janelle! This is Julie :) I saw your blog on Kristies and had to say Hi :) Your little guy is so precious!! Your blog post made me laugh! Thats how I have felt so many times! Just last week I made a cute little picnic for me, Craig and the twins. We went to the park, it started raining, Jeter was not "feeling it" with the swings, and Kamree threw the biggest fit because we had to leave! haha. You are such a cute mom! Love your blog..
