Conference Weekend...Not like I Planned

I LOVE conference weekend! I have so many fond memories of this weekend and now that I am a mom I want to make memories for Brax (even though he could probably care less haha). So I had it all planned...we wake up, have biscuits and gravy (my favorite, and now Marc's too), we would go up Big Cottonwood Canyon (a place I have always wanted to go), have a fun KFC picnic and go on a little hike in between Saturday sessions.

Well...like I said I "planned" it but my plans usually don't go the way I see them in my head. For instance: I didn't plan on Braxton waking up with a 103.2 degree fever poor little guy, I didn't plan on getting so wrapped up into making Millie a blanket and forgetting to eat lunch before lunch (if you are like me when you're prego, you have to have two of every meal so you don't get sick), I didn't plan on not knowing where this stinking canyon was, and I didn't plan on getting sicker than a dog because the road was so windy and I hadn't eaten! So, we went with the flow. We actually didn't eat up on the mountain because there wasn't a KFC on the way or any other restaraunt. We ate after the whole trip at Cafe Rio instead. We didn't get to enjoy the ride up because my head was hanging out the window trying not to you know what. We didn't get to go on a hike because of Braxton's condition and I had forgotten coats and my baby carrier. But I did get to go and see the BEAUTIFUL leaves, the BEAUTIFUL canyons, and most importantly I got to do it with my family. Obviously Braxton didn't care...

He just sat in the back and enjoyed the ride I was so worried about.

when we got as far as I could go before I drove back down the mountain I had to take some pictures of the pretty scenery.

I finally had to get out and walk around. haha

There was this hike that was only 2 miles and I really wanted to go so I could see what was up there but Marc wasn't having it. He would have had to carry Braxton the whole way! ha

Other than the FANTASTIC talks...(I loved them all! Especially the one by Elder M. Russell Ballard!) We had a great time as a family. Even though it didn't go like I had planned, at least I had a plan. haha Sometimes that all you need. Such a great time of year! Everything was WONDERFUL! I do have to thank Marc for dealing with my wacky ideas. He actually had some fun getting away from studying for a little bit. haha
