After a fun filled two weeks in Cedar and St. George we started makin our way back to Omaha but made a little stop up north to spend a little time with the Johnson side. It was the day before New Year's eve so we made sure we celebrated a little early because we would be traveling on New Year's Eve.
Of course...before any of this could happen we had to stop at IKEA...MY FAVORITE PLACE! I had to stock up on a few things for our house that you just can't get anywhere else. haha The kids loved it and it sure did bring back memories of living in Salt Lake...made me miss it!
Ang, Brace and her kids were on their way up so we were excited to see them...We met everyone at Texas Roadhouse and it was nice to see them all again!
Millie and Ry kept eating the peanuts while waiting haha |

After dinner we made an impromptu stop to see little Trey again...unfortunately our kids were sick so I had to just run in. Traveling sure does take it's toll on everyone and their immune systems :(
We then made our way up to Wolf Creek to stay our last night with Grandma, Papa, Markus, Rush, Ry, Ang, and Brace. We thankfully put 5 hours under our belt and also got to relax and enjoy our time with everyone! It was hard to miss the big bingo tourney this year but we just had to get home...bad weather was brewing in Wyoming and Nebraska so...we had to make a hard decision and spend our New Year's Eve on the road. We made the most of it though! 14 hours in the car and I must say the kids did really well!
Braxton was happy as a lark and Millie....had her moments ha |
Marc even trusted me to drive a couple hours of the trip! ;)
Thankfully Grandma Johnson was prepared and equipped us with noise makers...I made us stop in North Platte to grab some hats and fun New years things to bring in the New Year.
After a whole day on the road we made it home with 40 minutes to spare. We unloaded the car, put the kids to bed, and then sat on the couch and fell asleep. haha HAPPY NEW YEAR! It was the perfect end to our perfect Christmas break!!
